I have a plumbing emergency, what should I do?

Once that’s done, give our plumber a ring, no matter what the day or time is. We’ll be there promptly to resolve the problem.

While waiting for the plumber to arrive, remove any significant things close to the leak, and wipe up any water or place a bucket to catch any drips. If you have turned the mains water off, also switch off the heating for the hot water as well.

Help, I don’t know where the main water shutoff valve is!

You may have been shown it as a stopcock, isolating valve or toby. This valve is normally located on the boundary near the road, usually under a blue or black plastic cover.

Remember, many appliances and fixtures have their own isolating taps also.
